XMODEM

A common file transfer protocol.

YMODEM

Another common file transfer protocol.

.Z

The filename extension used by files compressed with the Unix compress program.

.z

A filename extension used by files compressed with the Unix gzip program.

.ZIP

The filename extension used by files compressed into the ZIP format common on PCs.

ZMODEM

The fastest and most popular file transfer protocol.
