APS II w/White Willow Bark
This formula is good for increasing circulation, reducing swelling, relieving headaches, stimulating circulation, general uneasiness, stomach disorders, colds, flus, PMS, fever, tension and arthritis. APS II can be used for almost anything for which aspirin or other over-the-counter-pain medicine is used. But it will not be as hard on your stomach or the rest of you body as the medications will.

White Willow bark

This is the famous ancestor of our currant. It is an analgesic, antipyretic, antiseptic and astringent. Willow bark has been used to treat a wide range of symptoms including arthritis, bursitis, tennis elbow, colds, flus and fever. Contrary to what many people believe, white willow is not for reducing pain, it is for reducing the swelling that causes pain. So when you use it try to be informed about what is causing your pain.

As mentioned before salicylic acid in aspirin was developed from white willow's naturally occurring salicin in the form of a glycoside. This cuts down on the acid and therefore makes white willow easier on the stomach.

Valerian root

Valerian acts as a sedative, antispasmodic and diuretic. It has been widely used for its ability to calm and induce sleep without side effects. In the U.S. it is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) and is commonly used as an additive in many food products. Traditionally valerian has been used to treat tension, headaches, fever, digestive problems, urinary tract disorders, insomnia, depression, heart palpitations, vertigo, sleep disorders, PMS, hyperactivity and hypochondria. Many of these treatments date back to the second century A.D.

Valerian was used frequently in the U.S. until modern sleeping pills became wide spread and it is still used frequently in Europe and South America.

Lettuce leaves

Wild lettuce was used during the American Civil War as a narcotic when opiates were not available. It has no addictive characteristics and is very mild. Lettuce has been use to treat intestinal disorders, headaches, mild pain and to calm the nervous system. The properties of this herb are narcotic (mild) and sudorific.

Capsicum fruit

This hot fruit, contrary to many herbals, is native to the western hemisphere. It is best known in spice form as cayenne. Capsicum stimulates the circulatory system and is good for cleaning out the bowels and intestines. Its properties are stimulant, tonic, carminative, diaphoretic and rubefacient. Capsicum may be used to treat colds, pneumonia, diarrhea, fevers, coughs and asthma. The hot sensation from capsicum is caused by capsaicin crystals in the fruit.
